Crewe is Virginia’s first HEAL Community. But what does that mean? Evidence suggests that a healthier community is a more desirable place to visit, own a business, and raise a family. By becoming the first HEAL town in Virginia, Crewe will be a leader in developing innovative ideas and common sense solutions for providing healthy choices in Southern Virginia.

The Nottoway County Public School system provides public education for Crewe residents. Students from the Town attend Crewe Primary School and Nottoway Intermediate School, Middle School ,and High School, located in the County.
Kenston Forest School, a private school for grades K-12 is located near the southern limits of the Town of Blackstone. In addition, some students attend Fuqua School, in the Town of Farmville, which also serves grades K-12.

The newly renovated Town of Crewe Public Library, located on Tyler Street, is part of the Nottoway County Public Library system. The library offers free W-Fi, printing services, books, magazines, videos and several computers with internet access. With weekly preschool reading programs, summer reading programs, and the Nottoway County literacy program, there’s something for everyone!
